Overview

  • Serve as a Conflicts Attorney within a leading law firm, ensuring compliance with professional standards and ethical obligations.
  • Analyze and resolve complex conflicts of interest, contributing to risk management and firm integrity.
  • Collaborate with partners and stakeholders to refine conflicts policies and training programs.
  • Engage in research and analysis of corporate structures and transactional relationships.
  • Support lateral recruitment processes and client matter onboarding with precision and expertise.
  • Work closely with the General Counsel on legal expertise-related tasks and initiatives.
  • Contribute to firm-wide risk management initiatives across various departments.
  • Enhance professional standards through proactive conflict resolution strategies.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct and analyze conflict checks for new client matters and lateral hires with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Perform detailed research to identify and address potential conflicts of interest.
  • Draft and review conflict waivers, engagement terms, and related documentation.
  • Implement and maintain ethical screens to safeguard confidential information.
  • Advise on compliance with outside counsel guidelines and client requirements.
  • Mentor and train junior team members in conflicts resolution processes.
  • Support attorney transitions and manage records efficiently.
  • Collaborate on refining conflicts policies and best practices to enhance firm operations.

Job Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school with active bar admission.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in law firm conflicts or related roles.
  • Strong understanding of Rules of Professional Conduct across jurisdictions.
  • Proficiency in conflicts and intake systems and document management processes.
  • Exceptional judgment and ability to balance legal risk with business priorities.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent communication skills.
  • Experience drafting conflict waivers and advising on ethical screens.
  • Ability to manage high volumes of time-sensitive matters effectively.
