Overview
- Provide preventative oral health care services as a licensed Dental Hygienist in a clinical setting.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling.
- Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and root planning, administering local anesthesia as needed.
- Expose radiographs and dispense fluoride and therapeutic agents for optimal oral health.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, including infection control and sterilization procedures.
- Conduct oral cancer screenings, periodontal assessments, and chart dental findings accurately.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations, maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive care and treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Conduct patient assessments, reviewing medical histories and identifying contraindications for treatment.
- Perform operatory setup and breakdown, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for each patient.
- Administer therapeutic agents and fluoride treatments to enhance oral health.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques and the importance of preventative care.
- Follow infection control protocols, including sterilization and operatory disinfection.

- Maintain accurate records of patient treatments and clinical findings.

Job Requirements
- Vocational, Technical, or Associate’s Degree in Dental Hygiene required.
- Licensure as a Dental Hygienist under the state of Massachusetts mandatory.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and infection control practices essential.
- Ability to perform radiographic imaging and interpret results accurately.
- Proficiency in administering local anesthesia and therapeutic agents.
- Strong communication skills for patient education and team collaboration.
- Proof of immunity and recent tuberculosis skin test results required.
