Overview

  • Lead a dynamic nursing team in a high-acuity critical care unit, ensuring exceptional patient outcomes and adherence to evidence-based practices.
  • Promote professional development among staff, fostering certifications and continuous learning within a supportive environment.
  • Drive compliance with healthcare standards, organizational policies, and national best practices to uphold quality care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement innovative patient care strategies and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage complex medical cases, including advanced cardiovascular and pulmonary conditions, in a challenging healthcare setting.
  • Support optimal nurse-to-patient ratios in a well-equipped and efficiently managed critical care environment.
  • Champion a culture of excellence, innovation, and patient-centered care within the unit.
  • Ensure compassionate, high-quality care tailored to individual patient needs and circumstances.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise and mentor nursing staff, fostering professional growth and adherence to healthcare standards.
  • Oversee the implementation of hospital policies and protocols to maintain compliance and quality care delivery.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to manage and coordinate care for complex medical cases effectively.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance evidence-based practices and improve patient outcomes within the unit.
  • Ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation of patient care and medical conditions.
  • Educate patients and families on medical conditions, treatments, and care plans to promote understanding and engagement.
  • Maintain and promote certifications such as BCLS and ACLS among nursing staff to ensure readiness for critical care scenarios.
  • Advocate for continuous improvement and innovation in patient care practices and unit operations.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in nursing or healthcare administration preferred.
  • Current Professional Nursing License (RN) in the state of practice mandatory.
  • National certification in a specialty practice area required within six months of hire.
  • BCLS certification required; ACLS certification to be obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Minimum two years of nursing experience in a critical care setting; five years preferred.
  • One year of supervisory experience in direct patient care activities required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing complex cases, including cardiovascular and pulmonary conditions.
  • Strong leadership, critical thinking, and communication skills essential for success in this role.
