Overview
- Provide clinical support including vital signs, phlebotomy, specimen collection, and diagnostic screenings in a patient-facing role.
- Collaborate closely with physicians and advanced practice providers to deliver quality care.
- Document patient information accurately into electronic medical records systems.
- Administer medications and vaccines according to certification allowances.
- Maintain and sterilize medical equipment and examination rooms to ensure cleanliness and safety.
- Work within defined policies and procedures while exercising discretion and prioritization.
- Engage in local travel as needed with mileage reimbursement provided.
- Participate in the organization’s Tuberculosis screening program as part of patient-facing responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform phlebotomy and primary care tasks including specimen collection and diagnostic screenings.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure effective patient care delivery.
- Administer medications and vaccines following certification guidelines.
- Document patient interactions and medical information in electronic medical records systems.
- Maintain examination rooms and medical equipment in compliance with hygiene standards.
- Provide direct patient care and support based on active certifications.
- Follow standard policies and procedures with room for independent discretion.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills.
Job Requirements
- Completion of a Medical Assistant training program or certification as a Registered/Certified Medical Assistant.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate of Science preferred.
- CPR certification and compliance with Tuberculosis screening program.
- Experience in medication and vaccine administration preferred.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Value-Based Care, HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and patient experience metrics preferred.
- Ability to work Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with occasional local travel.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in clinical settings.
