Job Description

Overview

  • Lead enterprise-wide technology architecture for a healthcare payer organization, ensuring scalable, secure, and compliant systems supporting strategic goals.
  • Design and oversee IT system structures, bridging business needs with technical implementation through blueprints and technology selection.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership to align architecture strategies with business objectives and investment priorities.
  • Maintain architectural roadmaps and governance frameworks to ensure interoperability and risk-managed delivery.
  • Evaluate and recommend platforms and solutions considering long-term implications and technical debt reduction.
  • Work closely with IT teams to guide technical solutions and ensure alignment across systems.
  • Focus on key technology areas including API integration, cloud platforms, data architecture, and infrastructure.
  • Provide leadership and technical guidance to ensure successful project delivery and system performance.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Define and maintain enterprise architecture strategy, standards, and roadmaps aligned with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with IT and business leadership to guide solution architectures for major initiatives and investments.
  • Create technical strategies and blueprints, selecting appropriate technologies to meet business requirements.
  • Oversee implementation and integration of new systems, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture.
  • Analyze and resolve complex technical problems and performance issues within systems.
  • Provide technical guidance, support, and training to development and IT teams.
  • Research emerging technologies and propose changes based on business value and risk.
  • Drive adoption of modern technologies, integration, and data architectures across the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and implement security measures to mitigate risks.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field required.
  • TOGAF or equivalent Enterprise Architecture certification required; cloud certifications preferred.
  • 10-12+ years of IT experience, with 5+ years in healthcare payer enterprise architecture required.
  • Proven experience in healthcare payer environment, understanding workflows, operations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks and healthcare interoperability standards required.
  • Strong executive communication skills and ability to present solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, integration patterns, and AI technologies required.
  • Knowledge of microservices, containers, DevSecOps, and EHR/EMR systems preferred.
  • Flexibility in a dynamic environment and strong problem-solving skills essential.
