Job Description

Overview

  • Provide exceptional service to applicants, ensuring accurate and timely processing of applications and inquiries.
  • Support applicants with empathetic communication and efficient handling of their requests.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex issues and ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain compliance with organizational standards and procedures in all tasks.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of applicant services processes.
  • Engage in professional development to enhance skills and knowledge related to benefit fund operations.
  • Work on-site to provide direct support and maintain effective communication with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Review and validate required documents for processing applications and status requests.
  • Calculate benefits accurately and prepare necessary documentation for approvals.
  • Handle inquiries and correspondence with applicants to clarify application details.
  • Research Social Security transcripts and prepare authorizations for submission.
  • Recalculate benefits due to changes in service credits or retroactive payments.
  • Collaborate with Employer Services for work history verification and corrections.
  • Provide backup support for the contact center as needed.
  • Communicate regularly with the Applicant Services Supervisor for updates and guidance.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of benefit fund experience; Taft-Hartley Trust Fund experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with professional office demeanor.
  • Proven ability to manage complex issues with a flexible and cooperative approach.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving participant-related issues collaboratively.
  • Ability to work on-site and meet performance standards effectively.
  • Familiarity with benefit fund operations and compliance requirements.
