Overview
- Contribute to the accounting functions of a managed account platform within a leading investment firm.
- Engage in month-end processes, regulatory filings, and financial statement preparation.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external fund administrators to ensure accurate reporting.
- Utilize US GAAP standards to maintain compliance and enhance accounting processes.
- Support cash flow management and reconciliation activities across multiple asset classes.
- Prepare documentation for audits and assist with accounts payable tasks.
- Operate within a dynamic environment to improve processes and controls.
- Contribute to the growth and efficiency of the platform through innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Lead and assist in the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Analyze and prepare monthly reconciliations for general ledger accounts.
- Calculate subadvisor management and incentive fees with precision.
- Build detailed reconciliations of positions and balances across counterparties.
- Perform shadow accounting to reconcile internal reporting with fund administrator records.
- Prepare and review wires and reconcile cash activity for cash flow management.
- Evaluate and monitor internal controls to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Assist in preparing supporting documentation for annual audits and manager statements.
- Collaborate on ad hoc projects involving various organizational functions.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting or related field required.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant accounting experience; 10 years preferred.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP standards and financial services industry practices.
- Proficiency in managing reconciliations, audits, and financial statement preparation.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Experience with automating and enhancing accounting processes preferred.
- Willingness to operate within ambiguity and create improved processes.
