Job Description

Overview

  • Support key areas of the controllership function, focusing on lease accounting, accrued liabilities, payroll, and monthly close activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in accounting processes.
  • Drive improvements in data integrity, systems, and controls within a fast-paced environment.
  • Manage lease schedules, journal entries, and reconciliations for finance and operating leases.
  • Prepare financial disclosures and ensure compliance with ASC 842 guidance.
  • Monitor payroll-related expenses and support bonus accounting activities.
  • Participate in special projects, including consolidations and system implementations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across controllership processes and maintain SOX-compliant controls.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage lease schedules, journal entries, and reconciliations for finance and operating leases.
  • Prepare lease-related disclosures for financial statements and external reporting.
  • Track, record, and reconcile accrued expenses related to operations and SG&A functions.
  • Support payroll accounting activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules for monthly close activities.
  • Assist with automation and system enhancements for lease and accounting workflows.
  • Maintain SOX-compliant control environment and prepare audit-ready documentation.
  • Collaborate on special projects, including consolidations and system implementations.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred or in progress.
  • 4+ years of accounting experience; technical accounting and/or controllership experience highly valued.
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 842 compliance.
  • Experience with SOX compliance and familiarity with ERP systems like Oracle Fusion.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with high attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to navigate fast-paced environments.
  • Experience in lease accounting tools and payroll-related expense management.
