Job Description

Overview

  • Lead fund accounting operations for private equity and alternative asset clients in a hybrid work environment.
  • Collaborate with experienced professionals to deliver high-quality financial services and solutions.
  • Support complex fund structures with technical accounting expertise and industry knowledge.
  • Manage client relationships and ensure timely and accurate deliverables.
  • Train, develop, and supervise a team of fund accountants and senior staff.
  • Contribute to the implementation of fund structures and accounting systems.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external auditors to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Provide technical insights and solutions to enhance client satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Coach, develop, and train staff to achieve high performance and professional growth.
  • Manage and oversee client engagements, ensuring quality and timely deliverables.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, partner capital statements, and fee calculations.
  • Maintain and control general ledgers and sub-ledgers for private equity funds.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external auditors to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Review partnership agreements and implement fund structures on accounting systems.
  • Provide technical accounting knowledge and industry insights to clients.
  • Monitor and manage the timing and quality of client deliverables.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of fund accounting experience, with 7 years preferred.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams of accounting professionals.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and comprehensive accounting practices.
  • Experience with waterfall structures, modeling, and calculations is desirable.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word; experience with SunGard Investran is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Project management skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
