Job Description

Overview

  • Provide paralegal support to a high-volume immigration practice within the global mobility group.
  • Assist in preparing and filing immigration applications and petitions with government agencies.
  • Draft specialized support letters detailing eligibility for visa classifications and immigration benefits.
  • Operate as the sole paralegal in the group until additional staffing returns.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and other paralegals across different immigration groups.
  • Hybrid work arrangement with three days in-office per week.
  • Opportunity for conversion to a permanent role based on department needs.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Intake cases, troubleshoot issues, and establish case strategies for immigration matters.
  • Analyze case documents and prepare immigration applications for filing with government agencies.
  • Draft petitions, applications, and specialized support letters for visa classifications.
  • Monitor case statuses and proactively address scheduling or processing issues.
  • Communicate with attorneys, paralegals, and clients regarding case progress and updates.
  • Provide general administrative and immigration support as needed.
  • Ensure timely progression of cases and meet assigned deadlines.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and initiative in managing assignments and responsibilities.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an immigration paralegal; 6 years preferred.
  • Extensive experience with PERM, H-1B, and L-1 visa processes required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership and accountability in case management.
  • Hybrid work arrangement with three days in-office per week.
