Job Description

Overview

  • Serve as a Senior Fund Accountant, managing fund accounting operations and ensuring compliance with established procedures and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand fund structures, operating agreements, and standard operating procedures.
  • Coordinate team tasks related to capital calls, distributions, valuations, and financial reporting.
  • Mentor junior team members, fostering professional growth and skill development.
  • Prepare and review quarterly financial reports and letters for submission to senior management.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend solutions to improve processes and training.
  • Ensure compliance with external document control policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain positive interactions with internal teams and external stakeholders, including clients and limited partners.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage fund accounting tasks, including journal entries, financial statement preparation, and management fee calculations.
  • Coordinate and oversee fund closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Communicate priorities and coordinate workload distribution among team members.
  • Prepare and review quarterly financial reports and correspondence for client directors.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with external policies and document control standards.
  • Proactively identify operational issues and implement effective solutions to enhance efficiency.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members, promoting skill development and professional growth.
  • Interact confidently with clients, limited partners, and external parties, fostering strong relationships.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in fund accounting; 7 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in financial reporting, journal entries, and fund closing processes.
  • Strong understanding of management fee calculations and limited partnership agreements.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with senior team members and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to mentor and coach junior team members effectively.
  • Experience in identifying operational inefficiencies and implementing process improvements.
  • Familiarity with compliance standards and external document control policies.
