Job Description

Overview

  • Lead the management of a diverse grants portfolio, ensuring compliance with funding requirements and organizational goals.
  • Supervise analysts in grants and contracts operations, providing strategic oversight and support.
  • Oversee financial activities, including budgeting, billing, and receivables tracking for assigned grants.
  • Collaborate with program personnel to prepare budget modifications and financial reports.
  • Ensure accurate recording of revenues and expenditures in general ledger accounts.
  • Coordinate subcontractor compliance, invoicing, and reporting activities.
  • Provide forecasts and analyses for programs and potential funding opportunities.
  • Support audits and year-end financial reviews, ensuring thorough documentation and compliance.
  • Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze data and generate detailed reports.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage contract registration, billing packages, and timely submission of reports to funding sources.
  • Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts by program, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitor and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable balances with grantors.
  • Prepare budget narratives and modifications for programs and new funding opportunities.
  • Coordinate subcontractor contract compliance, invoicing, and reporting activities.
  • Generate and analyze reports using Excel, ensuring data accuracy and insights.
  • Collaborate with FP&A to provide financial forecasts and analyses.
  • Support program audits and year-end reviews, ensuring compliance and thorough documentation.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, maintaining flexibility and adaptability.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in grants accounting and management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with accounting software such as FE or similar systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of NYC Passport and state SFS systems is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Commitment to quality, accuracy, and thoroughness in all activities.
