Overview
- Lead strategic human resources initiatives to enhance organizational effectiveness and employee engagement within a dynamic academic environment.
- Provide oversight for HR functions, including recruitment, compliance, and employee relations, ensuring alignment with institutional goals.
- Serve as the Title IX liaison for employees, promoting equity and compliance across the organization.
- Supervise HR staff, fostering professional development and operational excellence within the department.
- Champion diversity and inclusion initiatives to cultivate a high-performing and engaged workplace culture.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement HR strategies that support institutional priorities.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws, mitigating risk and enhancing policy adherence.
- Optimize HR systems and processes to improve data integrity and reporting capabilities.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Provide strategic leadership for HR functions, including talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, and performance management.
- Develop and implement proactive employee relations strategies, including conflict resolution and performance improvement initiatives.
- Oversee the performance management lifecycle, ensuring accountability and continuous improvement across the organization.
- Direct recruitment and hiring practices, ensuring equity, inclusivity, and compliance with institutional policies.
- Manage personnel records and HR systems, ensuring confidentiality and effective reporting capabilities.
- Serve as a key advisor on compliance with employment laws and regulations, including ADA, EEO, and Title IX.
- Enhance onboarding and offboarding processes to improve the employee experience and retention rates.
- Lead initiatives to foster an inclusive and engaged workplace culture, aligned with institutional priorities.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in HR Management, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum of ten years of experience in human resources administration, with progressive advancement preferred.
- Three or more years of supervisory experience required; seven years preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including ADA, EEO, and Title IX.
- Specialized HR certifications such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP preferred.
- Strong ability to develop, communicate, and maintain HR business processes effectively.
- Experience serving as Title IX Coordinator or Deputy is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to lead HR initiatives in a diverse, multicultural workplace environment.
