Job Description

Overview

  • Serve as a Civil Procedure Specialist, maintaining and communicating knowledge of rules and statutes to support litigation processes.
  • Develop relationships with vendors and courts to facilitate efficient case management and document retrieval.
  • Ensure form files are updated and provide attorneys with filing procedure guidance.
  • Maintain comprehensive libraries of judges' rules, state rules, and research materials.
  • Track and update case information, monitor deadlines, and produce calendars for attorney case management.
  • Manage internal docketing programs, applying relevant rules to generate accurate schedules.
  • Monitor press for news on lawsuits and advise attorneys on potential impacts.
  • Foster effective relationships within the court system and legal community.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Draft memorandums on statute and rule modifications for attorney reference.
  • Develop and maintain a library of judges' profiles and rules for attorney use.
  • Manage case tracking, updating court information, and monitoring deadlines.
  • Produce weekly calendars and reminders to facilitate attorney case management.
  • Negotiate terms with vendors for process service provision on various levels.
  • Monitor legal news and advise attorneys on developments affecting clients.
  • Maintain research libraries and directories for legal reference.
  • Build effective relationships with court personnel and legal vendors.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts degree required, with specialization in Federal and State Civil Procedure preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a legal environment, preferably within a managing clerk's office.
  • Extensive knowledge of civil procedures, statutes, and legal systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and docketing programs.
  • Exceptional negotiation and relationship-building skills within the legal community.
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to role development and service enhancement.
  • Ability to monitor and analyze legal news for actionable insights.
