Job Description

Overview

  • Provide essential clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers in a dynamic ambulatory care setting.
  • Assist in direct patient care, including vital signs, phlebotomy, and diagnostic testing.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and management of patient information within electronic medical records.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver age-specific care and support population health initiatives.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality while fostering a supportive work environment.
  • Participate in campaigns to improve patient outcomes and reduce unnecessary hospital visits.
  • Support administrative tasks such as scheduling, insurance verification, and patient registration.
  • Contribute to a friendly and cooperative atmosphere, ensuring excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform direct patient care tasks, including physical examination preparation and diagnostic testing.
  • Document patient care information accurately in electronic medical records.
  • Assist in patient registration, check-in, and check-out processes, ensuring data integrity.
  • Coordinate referrals and follow-up appointments with external specialists and laboratories.
  • Support healthcare campaigns and initiatives to close gaps in care and improve health outcomes.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries and resolving concerns.
  • Monitor patient flow and proactively address issues related to registration and appointment scheduling.
  • Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or eligibility for national certification required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a medical assistant in an ambulatory care setting required.
  • Proficiency in navigating electronic medical records systems required.
  • Preferred 3 years of experience as a medical assistant in an ambulatory care setting.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and age-specific patient care needs.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to handle patient interactions professionally.
  • Flexibility to work varying hours between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
