Overview
- Lead procurement strategies to ensure timely delivery, cost efficiency, and quality for manufacturing components and materials.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to align procurement goals with organizational objectives.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to optimize performance and ensure compliance with agreements.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms to secure favorable agreements and cost savings.
- Monitor supply chain risks and implement strategies to mitigate disruptions effectively.
- Analyze market trends to identify opportunities for cost reduction and procurement efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to internal policies and relevant regulations, including government procurement standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance sourcing processes and supplier performance.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Manage purchase orders from initiation to completion, ensuring accuracy and timely fulfillment.
- Evaluate and select suppliers based on cost, quality, and delivery performance criteria.
- Conduct negotiations to achieve optimal pricing, terms, and delivery agreements.
- Monitor and address supplier performance issues to maintain consistent quality and delivery standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve supply chain challenges and support production schedules.
- Implement risk mitigation strategies to address vulnerabilities within the supply chain.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and applicable government regulations.
- Support initiatives aimed at enhancing procurement processes and driving supplier performance improvements.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of procurement or supply chain experience; 5 years preferred.
- Proficiency in managing purchase orders, supplier relationships, and production support activities.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
- Experience with machined parts, electrical components, or manufacturing supply chains is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of government procurement regulations, such as FAR/DFAR, is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities to collaborate with diverse teams.
