Job Description

Overview

  • Lead the strategic direction and execution of tax compliance for diverse investment products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to institutional tax standards.
  • Provide expert guidance on tax implications for private equity, real estate, and alternative investments.
  • Oversee audits and compliance processes to mitigate risks and ensure accuracy.
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize investment outcomes.
  • Mentor and lead a high-performing tax team, fostering growth and excellence.
  • Evaluate restructuring proposals and investment opportunities from a tax perspective.
  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including investors and external advisors.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Direct tax compliance for private funds, securitizations, and CLOs, ensuring regulatory adherence.
  • Review and approve tax filings, investor deliverables, and payment schedules.
  • Advise on tax structuring for acquisitions, investments, and corporate restructurings.
  • Collaborate with external advisors to address complex tax scenarios effectively.
  • Manage audits and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Support internal teams with tax-related insights and solutions for investment strategies.
  • Evaluate international financing and royalty structures for tax optimization.
  • Deliver exceptional service to major investors, addressing their tax-related inquiries.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA certification required; advanced degree in taxation preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in tax compliance and consulting; 20 years preferred.
  • Expertise in private funds, fund-of-funds, and alternative investment structures.
  • Proficiency in analyzing LPAs, PPMs, and transactional documents.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills to manage teams effectively.
  • Advanced proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
