Overview
- Lead investment accounting operations for a global portfolio, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, statutory, and international standards.
- Drive strategic initiatives to enhance investment accounting systems and reporting processes, fostering operational excellence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to onboard new investment classes and oversee periodic activity reporting.
- Provide insightful analysis on financial statement movements, budgets, and prior period comparisons.
- Lead technical accounting reviews for investment transactions and emerging asset classes.
- Oversee credit allowance analysis and contribute to senior management presentations and strategic discussions.
- Manage investment sections for annual surveys and year-end SOC report reviews.
- Cultivate a high-performing team, promoting collaboration and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Supervise daily accounting operations and monthly financial close for global investment portfolios.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting compliance with quarterly close calendars and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with treasury, legal, and portfolio management teams to optimize investment activities.
- Draft and review accounting policy memorandums addressing complex technical matters.
- Ensure precision in financial statement footnotes and disclosures, adhering to compliance standards.
- Implement robust processes for insurance/reinsurance accounting and financial reporting.
- Lead project planning and execution for investment accounting improvements and initiatives.
- Stay updated on industry trends, integrating insights into operational strategies.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance; Master’s degree or CPA preferred.
- Minimum 12 years of experience in investment accounting, with 15 years preferred.
- Expertise in ASC Topics 320-326 and international GAAP standards.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence and drive organizational change.
- Proficiency in financial reporting systems and technology applications.
- Strong project management skills, ensuring effective planning and execution.
- Knowledge of industry trends and commitment to continuous improvement practices.
