Job Description

Overview

  • Perform radiographic procedures under the supervision of a Radiologist and Supervisor, ensuring quality and safety.
  • Apply independent judgment and initiative to execute technical procedures for radiologic diagnosis.
  • Handle a variety of patient age groups, from newborns to the elderly, with care and professionalism.
  • May perform Bone Density exams as part of the role's scope.
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Engage in patient education regarding procedures and document relevant information accurately.
  • Participate in training new staff and attend departmental meetings as required.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal radiation safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Operate radiographic equipment and produce quality images adhering to established protocols.
  • Maintain patient records and ensure proper documentation of procedures and complications.
  • Assess patients appropriately based on the exam ordered, including screening for pregnancy and reviewing lab values.
  • Utilize RIS systems accurately for order management, documentation, and reporting.
  • Adhere to infection control and safety practices, including proper use of contrast media.
  • Perform non-technical duties such as stocking rooms, transporting patients, and cleaning equipment.
  • Participate in department meetings and contribute to special projects as assigned.
  • Maintain productivity standards and meet departmental expectations.

Job Requirements

  • Associate of Science (AS) degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
  • ARRT Registry or eligibility with proof of registered status within one year.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and radiology-specific systems.
  • Competence in performing quality radiographic procedures independently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective patient interaction.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Preferred: One year of experience in a similar role.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently and perform tasks requiring physical effort.
