Job Description

Overview

  • Provide essential clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers in an ambulatory care setting.
  • Assist in patient care activities, including vital signs, phlebotomy, and specimen collection.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and data integrity in electronic medical records systems.
  • Coordinate referrals and follow-up care with external specialists and laboratories.
  • Support patient registration, check-in, and check-out processes efficiently.
  • Provide excellent customer service and address patient concerns effectively.
  • Collaborate with the care team to deliver high-quality patient-centered care.
  • Participate in health campaigns and initiatives to improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare examination rooms and assist providers during patient visits and procedures.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and verifying insurance coverage.
  • Collect and label specimens accurately for laboratory processing.
  • Document patient care activities in electronic medical records with precision.
  • Coordinate patient referrals and ensure timely follow-up care.
  • Monitor patient flow and address any issues related to registration or wait times.
  • Assist in health campaigns and outreach to improve care delivery.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all patient interactions.

Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or eligibility for certification exam.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an ambulatory care setting required.
  • Proficiency in navigating electronic medical records systems.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and patient care processes.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary care team.
