Property Accountant

Overview

• Manage accounting operations for a portfolio of properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards and regulations.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, providing insights to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline accounting processes and enhance reporting accuracy.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting principles.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and analyze variances to identify discrepancies.
• Monitor and report on financial performance, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
• Coordinate with departments to resolve financial discrepancies and improve reporting processes.
• Manage fixed asset accounting, including tracking, depreciation, and reporting.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Leverage technology to enhance efficiency in financial data analysis and reporting.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience, with 4 years preferred.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as MRI or similar ERP systems is advantageous.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications are essential.
• Experience with AI tools and automation in accounting processes is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for handling complex financial data.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a hybrid work environment.
