Job Description

Overview

  • Provide essential nursing care in a dynamic clinical setting, ensuring patient well-being and adherence to healthcare protocols.
  • Assist practitioners with examinations, minor surgeries, and diagnostic procedures, enhancing patient care quality.
  • Perform vital signs assessments, administer medications, and execute treatments as per established protocols.
  • Maintain clinical equipment and supplies, ensuring readiness for patient care activities.
  • Document clinical observations and findings accurately in patient medical records.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver comprehensive patient care and education.
  • Support laboratory and radiology processes, including test requisitions and report retrieval.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control measures and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Screen, discharge, interview, counsel, and educate patients in clinical areas.
  • Administer immunizations, treatments, and medications following practitioner orders and protocols.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures such as EKGs, vision tests, and blood glucose monitoring.
  • Assist providers during examinations and minor surgeries, ensuring patient comfort.
  • Maintain accurate records of controlled substances and clinical supplies.
  • Prepare examination rooms and organize supplies for efficient operations.
  • Communicate effectively with staff to ensure continuity of patient care.
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions to stay updated on healthcare practices.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and graduation from an approved School of Practical Nursing.
  • Valid LPN License in New York State.
  • Minimum 1 year of healthcare delivery experience; recent graduates considered.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records software and Microsoft Outlook and Word.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively in a busy clinic.
  • Knowledge of infection control measures and OSHA standards.
  • Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and team collaboration.
