Overview
- Provide essential nursing care in a dynamic clinical setting, ensuring patient well-being and adherence to healthcare protocols.
- Assist practitioners with examinations, minor surgeries, and diagnostic procedures, enhancing patient care quality.
- Perform vital signs assessments, administer medications, and execute treatments as per established protocols.
- Maintain clinical equipment and supplies, ensuring readiness for patient care activities.
- Document clinical observations and findings accurately in patient medical records.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver comprehensive patient care and education.
- Support laboratory and radiology processes, including test requisitions and report retrieval.
- Ensure compliance with infection control measures and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Screen, discharge, interview, counsel, and educate patients in clinical areas.
- Administer immunizations, treatments, and medications following practitioner orders and protocols.
- Perform diagnostic procedures such as EKGs, vision tests, and blood glucose monitoring.
- Assist providers during examinations and minor surgeries, ensuring patient comfort.
- Maintain accurate records of controlled substances and clinical supplies.
- Prepare examination rooms and organize supplies for efficient operations.
- Communicate effectively with staff to ensure continuity of patient care.
- Participate in meetings and training sessions to stay updated on healthcare practices.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED and graduation from an approved School of Practical Nursing.
- Valid LPN License in New York State.
- Minimum 1 year of healthcare delivery experience; recent graduates considered.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records software and Microsoft Outlook and Word.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively in a busy clinic.
- Knowledge of infection control measures and OSHA standards.
- Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and team collaboration.
