Overview
- Provide essential nursing care in a dynamic clinical setting, supporting patient health and practitioner needs.
- Administer medications, treatments, and perform diagnostic procedures according to established protocols.
- Assist practitioners during examinations, minor surgeries, and therapeutic testing.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with safety and infection control standards.
- Organize and prepare examination rooms, ensuring availability of necessary supplies and instruments.
- Support patient education and counseling to enhance understanding of treatments and procedures.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure continuity of care.
- Participate in training and meetings to stay updated on protocols and standards.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform clinical nursing functions, including vital signs, pain assessments, and BMI measurements.
- Administer immunizations, PPD tests, inhalation treatments, and other procedures as directed.
- Conduct diagnostic tests such as EKGs, vision and hearing tests, and blood glucose monitoring.
- Manage medication inventory, including controlled substances, and maintain accurate records.
- Process laboratory tests, referrals, and requisition forms following established guidelines.
- Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of clinical equipment and instruments.
- Follow up on abnormal lab results, urgent recalls, and missed appointments.
- Adhere to infection control measures and OSHA standards in all clinical activities.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma and graduation from an approved School of Practical Nursing.
- Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in New York State.
- Experience in healthcare delivery; recent graduates are welcome to apply.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records software and Microsoft Outlook and Word.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively in a busy clinic environment.
- Knowledge of National Patient Safety Goals and JAHCO standards.
