Overview
- Provide essential nursing care in a fast-paced ambulatory clinic setting, supporting practitioners and ensuring patient education and comfort.
- Administer medications and treatments, perform diagnostic tests, and assist in minor surgical procedures under supervision.
- Maintain clinical equipment and supplies, ensuring compliance with safety and infection control standards.
- Document clinical observations in patient records and manage laboratory and radiology reports.
- Participate in patient follow-ups for abnormal lab results and missed appointments.
- Support the clinic's mission by delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Collaborate with clinical, clerical, and managerial staff to ensure seamless patient care.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Screen, discharge, interview, counsel, and educate patients in clinical areas under RN supervision.
- Perform procedures such as EKGs, hearing and vision tests, and blood glucose monitoring.
- Administer immunizations, inhalation treatments, and medications per practitioner orders.
- Maintain accurate records of controlled substances and clinical supplies.
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure availability of necessary instruments and supplies.
- Sterilize and maintain clinical equipment in compliance with protocols.
- Attend organizational meetings and adhere to safety and infection control standards.
- Report unusual occurrences or problems to the Unit Manager promptly.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma and graduation from an approved School of Practical Nursing.
- Valid LPN License in New York State.
- Experience in healthcare delivery; recent graduates are welcome.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records software and Microsoft Outlook and Word.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a busy clinic environment.
- Knowledge of infection control measures and safety standards.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with clinical and administrative staff.
