Overview
- Lead quality engineering initiatives for composite manufacturing processes in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Develop and implement Quality Management Systems (QMS) to achieve and maintain certifications like ISO 9001 and AS9100.
- Collaborate across departments to enhance product quality and manufacturing performance.
- Utilize expertise in fiber-reinforced polymer composites to drive defect prevention and quality assurance.
- Conduct non-destructive testing (NDT) using advanced inspection methods for composite materials.
- Lead supplier quality programs, including audits and performance improvement initiatives.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) and process validation for innovative composite products.
- Mentor and develop high-performing quality engineering teams to achieve organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Design and implement quality systems aligned with industry standards and certifications.
- Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions for composite defects.
- Develop and scale quality systems to support manufacturing growth and operational excellence.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve product quality and manufacturing processes.
- Establish and manage supplier quality programs, including audits and qualifications.
- Support technology development and R&D programs through qualification and validation.
- Develop quality metrics and dashboards for strategic decision-making and performance tracking.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and customer quality standards.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in fiber-reinforced polymer composites manufacturing.
- Proven expertise in QMS implementation and achieving ISO 9001/AS9100 certifications.
- Extensive knowledge of composite manufacturing processes and defect prevention techniques.
- Experience with non-destructive testing methods for composite materials.
- Strong proficiency in PLM, ERP, MES, and quality management software systems.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills to influence stakeholders.
