Overview
- Lead accounting services for a prominent organization, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations while driving operational excellence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial reporting and support strategic business decisions.
- Provide expert guidance on technical accounting matters, including SEC filings and complex transactions.
- Mentor and develop junior accounting professionals, fostering a culture of growth and collaboration.
- Drive integration of acquired businesses, establishing consistent and robust accounting policies.
- Monitor and implement new accounting standards, ensuring organizational compliance and adaptability.
- Support SOX compliance initiatives, enhancing internal controls and reporting processes.
- Draft detailed accounting memos and position papers to substantiate conclusions under U.S. GAAP.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Prepare and review SEC filings, including 10-K, 10-Q, and other regulatory documents.
- Conduct technical accounting research for complex transactions, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance.
- Manage stock-based compensation accounting and oversee equity and debt financing processes.
- Collaborate with external auditors and advisors to ensure accurate financial disclosures.
- Lead public company readiness initiatives, including SOX compliance and process improvements.
- Mentor and supervise junior accounting staff, promoting professional development and teamwork.
- Integrate acquired businesses, establishing uniform accounting practices and policies.
- Support transaction execution and disclosures, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA certification preferred.
- 6–10+ years of experience in public accounting or public company environments.
- Proficiency in U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations, with strong technical accounting expertise.
- Experience with SEC reporting, including 10-K and 10-Q filings.
- Hands-on experience with SPACs and de-SPAC transactions highly desirable.
- Prior experience with Big 4 or national accounting firms preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage complex transactions and meet tight deadlines effectively.
