Overview

  • Contribute to operational excellence within a leading hedge fund environment, focusing on structured credit and private lending strategies.
  • Engage in the full trade lifecycle, ensuring accurate execution and seamless settlement processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including trading, fund administration, and prime brokerage, to optimize workflows.
  • Develop expertise in fund operations, financial reporting, and trade settlement workflows.
  • Contribute to process automation initiatives, driving operational efficiency and accuracy.
  • Serve as a key resource for operational inquiries, supporting evolving fund strategies.
  • Gain exposure to structured credit and private lending markets, building valuable industry knowledge.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Ensure accurate and timely trade settlements for fixed income securities and related instruments.
  • Perform daily reconciliations of cash and positions, addressing discrepancies effectively and promptly.
  • Track and allocate fund expenses across multiple entities and strategies, ensuring compliance.
  • Collaborate with fund administrators to support NAV preparation and review processes.
  • Assist in month-end and quarter-end close processes, including reporting and investor deliverables.
  • Investigate and resolve settlement breaks, failed trades, and counterparty discrepancies efficiently.
  • Identify inefficiencies in operational processes and propose automation solutions to enhance workflows.
  • Support workflow improvements to enhance operational accuracy and efficiency within the team.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is required.
  • 1–2 years of experience in middle office, settlements, or operations is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Bloomberg or Geneva is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail are essential.
  • Knowledge of structured credit or private lending is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment effectively.
  • Collaborative attitude, contributing effectively to a small, dynamic team environment.
