Job Description

Overview

  • Serve as a senior finance leader, driving gross margin analysis and reporting for commodity trading portfolios.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial results and actionable insights.
  • Manage comprehensive accounting processes, ensuring compliance with GAAP and IFRS standards.
  • Strengthen internal controls and governance within a dynamic trading environment.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering their professional growth.
  • Lead initiatives for process optimization, system enhancements, and finance transformation projects.
  • Utilize advanced analytical tools to enhance financial reporting and decision-making.
  • Effectively communicate complex financial concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee month-end close processes, including journal entries and ledger analysis.
  • Conduct detailed gross margin and P&L analysis, explaining impacts of trading strategies.
  • Reconcile inventory balances, ensuring accurate valuation and discrepancy resolution.
  • Manage accounting for commodity trades and derivatives, applying hedging concepts.
  • Coordinate with trading and logistics teams for precise activity reporting.
  • Prepare audit documentation and address inquiries for external and internal audits.
  • Drive process improvements and automation within financial operations.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior accountants.
  • Lead cross-functional projects for system upgrades and reporting enhancements.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years of accounting experience, with 7 years preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP and IFRS standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI for financial analysis.
  • Experience in commodity trading and derivatives accounting.
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting market changes and financial impacts.
  • Proven leadership in projects and cross-team collaboration.
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting complex financial concepts.
  • Familiarity with AI tools for productivity enhancement is advantageous.
