Senior Fund Accountant/Assistant Controller Overview

  • The Senior Fund Accountant/Assistant Controller will oversee accounting operations for private credit funds and management company functions.
  • Collaborate directly with the Chief Financial Officer in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Handle financial reporting, investor reporting, cash management, budgeting, and liquidity forecasting.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, partnership accounting, and investment accounting standards.
  • Participate in strategic finance initiatives and system implementations.
  • Enhance accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting workflows.
  • Work closely with investment, compliance, investor relations, and operations teams.

Senior Fund Accountant/Assistant Controller Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Coordinate with loan/fund administrators, auditors, and tax partners for accurate financial operations.
  • Maintain loan accrual schedules and reconcile with administrative records.
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly investor reporting and valuation processes.
  • Support capital calls, distributions, and performance calculations.
  • Manage track records for funds and loan portfolios.
  • Review and produce monthly closings and financial reports.
  • Conduct budgeting and variance analysis for revenues and expenses.
  • Assist with cash forecasting and maintenance of financial forecasts.
  • Contribute to compliance programs and operational improvements.

Senior Fund Accountant/Assistant Controller Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
  • 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably within alternative investments.
  • Proficiency in GAAP, partnership accounting, and investment accounting concepts.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently.
  • Effective communication skills for interaction with senior management.
