Job Description

Physician Overview

  • The Physician will provide comprehensive medical care to a diverse patient population, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based treatment and preventive care.
  • Deliver care to adults with acute and chronic conditions, advising on lifestyle modifications and preventive screenings.
  • Analyze diagnostic tests and prescribe appropriate treatments within licensure scope and evidence-based guidelines.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and clinic operations.
  • Participate in quality improvement projects and peer reviews to ensure clinical excellence.
  • Engage in health promotion activities and maintain accurate, detailed medical records using EMR systems.
  • Comfortably work with diverse populations, including recent immigrants and LGBTQI patients.
  • Participate in certification and continuing medical education activities to maintain professional credentials.
  • Comply with all applicable laws, including HIPAA and mandated reporting requirements.

Physician Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Evaluate and manage acute and chronic medical conditions for adult patients.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests to inform clinical decision-making.
  • Prescribe treatments and medications based on evidence-based practices.
  • Refer patients to specialists when necessary and coordinate care plans.
  • Maintain detailed medical records and complete EMR documentation promptly.
  • Collaborate with care teams for pre-visit planning and patient management.
  • Participate in clinic meetings and contribute to organizational initiatives.
  • Engage in night and weekend call rotations shared among clinicians.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical care standards and legal regulations.

Physician Job Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
  • Board certification or eligibility in internal medicine or family medicine.
  • Valid New York State medical license and DEA certification.
  • Updated BLS and infection control certifications.
  • Proficiency in Spanish or a Southeast Asian language is preferred.
  • Experience in HIV medical care and LGBTQI patient care is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent bedside manner.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and quality improvement.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems, preferably ECW.
