Job Description

Director Of IT And Cybersecurity Overview

  • Lead the IT and cybersecurity strategy to ensure secure, scalable, and compliant technology operations for a forward-thinking organization.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of enterprise IT systems, including cloud, on-premises, and endpoint management solutions.
  • Drive initiatives in cybersecurity engineering, such as vulnerability management, incident response, and security monitoring.
  • Architect secure environments for Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and classified programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative and secure technology solutions that support organizational growth.
  • Mentor and lead a high-performing IT and cybersecurity team, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Ensure adherence to government security frameworks, including CMMC, NIST 800-171, and ITAR requirements.
  • Develop and enforce IT security protocols for both domestic and international operations.

Director Of IT And Cybersecurity Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Design, build, and manage secure enterprise IT infrastructure, including network architecture and computing clusters.
  • Develop and maintain security automation and custom cybersecurity solutions using advanced scripting and programming techniques.
  • Lead compliance programs and coordinate successful assessments for government security frameworks.
  • Implement and manage secure environments for Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and classified programs.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align technology strategies with organizational goals.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing IT and cybersecurity team, establishing best practices and standards.
  • Develop and enforce IT security protocols for secure travel and field deployments.
  • Support mission-critical activities with secure infrastructure design and operational procedures.

Director Of IT And Cybersecurity Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in systems administration, cybersecurity engineering, and infrastructure management.
  • Advanced proficiency in Linux/Unix administration, scripting, and programming languages.
  • Experience with compliance frameworks such as CMMC, NIST 800-171, and ITAR.
  • Strong understanding of networking, identity management, cloud infrastructure, and endpoint security.
  • Preferred certifications: CISSP, Security+, CySA+, CASP+, CMMC Certified Professional, or CEH.
  • Proven experience leading infrastructure and security initiatives with hands-on technical implementation.
  • Eligibility for top security clearance is required.
