Systems Engineer Overview
- The Systems Engineer will oversee and optimize the administration of Jira and Jira Service Management platforms.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to design scalable workflows and integrate Jira with enterprise systems.
- Lead the migration of ticketing systems like Zendesk and Asana into Jira.
- Develop automation to enhance efficiency and reduce manual processes.
- Ensure compliance with IT security and governance best practices.
- Document configurations, procedures, and migration strategies for future reference.
- Monitor licensing and optimize the Atlassian suite for cost efficiency.
- Provide technical support and serve as the primary contact for Atlassian-related issues.
Systems Engineer Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Administer and configure Jira and Jira Service Management, including workflows, custom fields, and automation rules.
- Design and manage Jira Service Management service desks, including SLAs and approval workflows.
- Integrate Jira with other platforms using REST APIs, webhooks, and connectors.
- Plan and execute migrations from platforms like Zendesk and Asana into Jira.
- Manage user roles and permissions across the Atlassian suite in alignment with identity practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and implement workflow improvements.
- Troubleshoot issues and manage the Atlassian Marketplace app portfolio.

Systems Engineer Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of IT experience with at least 3 years in Jira administration.
- Proficiency in Jira Service Management, including service desk setup and SLAs.
- Experience integrating Jira with enterprise platforms via APIs and connectors.
- Familiarity with IT security, access governance, and authentication technologies.
- Preferred Atlassian certifications and experience with Confluence administration.
