Pharmacy Technician Overview
- The Pharmacy Technician will support healthcare providers by managing prior authorization requests and providing exceptional customer service.
- This is a remote contract role with a duration through April 2027, offering a structured training program.
- Candidates must hold an active, unrestricted Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT).
- The role involves phone-heavy responsibilities and requires excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Work schedules are 10 AM – 7 PM CST, with training scheduled from 8 AM – 5 PM CST.

Pharmacy Technician Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Serve as the initial contact for healthcare providers regarding prior authorization inquiries and submissions.
- Utilize tools to determine eligibility, screen documents, and process prior authorization requests.
- Organize and distribute prior authorization requests for review by pharmacists or physicians.
- Collect and document relevant medical information while applying appropriate criteria.
- Ensure timely decision-making and escalate cases requiring pharmacist review as needed.
- Communicate prior authorization outcomes in compliance with standards and regulations.
- Participate in group training sessions and adhere to training schedules and guidelines.
Pharmacy Technician Job Requirements
