Respiratory Therapist Overview

- Administer bronchodilators, manage mechanical ventilators, and monitor therapeutic gas and aerosol generator systems to support patient respiratory needs.
- Evaluate patient progress by observing and documenting responses to therapy, recommending adjustments to treatment plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals for comprehensive discharge planning and patient care documentation in electronic medical records.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to infection-control policies and equipment maintenance protocols.

Respiratory Therapist Key Responsibilities & Duties

Respiratory Therapist Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; relevant certifications such as RRT, RCP, CRTT preferred.
- Valid state Respiratory Care license and compliance with NBRC requirements necessary.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in respiratory therapy, with strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to lift objects weighing 25-30 lbs and work independently or as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented and capable of following established facility procedures and protocols.
