Job Description

Regional Director Surgery Center Operations Overview

  • The Regional Director Surgery Center Operations will oversee operational, clinical, and financial performance of multiple ambulatory surgery centers within a designated region.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to implement strategic plans and operational initiatives at center and market levels.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to ASC managers, fostering a strong management pipeline and ensuring succession planning.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accrediting body requirements while promoting quality improvement and patient safety.
  • Develop and manage operating and capital budgets to optimize financial performance and achieve budgetary objectives.
  • Support growth initiatives, including expansion and development of new centers, aligning resources with anticipated demand.
  • Serve as a liaison for joint ventures, maintaining strong relationships with physician partners and ensuring alignment with agreements.
  • Partner with corporate functions to implement enterprise-wide standards and best practices across assigned centers.

  • Lead day-to-day operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and performance expectations.
  • Monitor and improve key operational, financial, quality, and productivity metrics across centers.
  • Develop and execute corrective action plans to address underperformance and enhance outcomes.
  • Oversee compliance with policies, codes of conduct, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage budgets, ensuring financial stewardship and adherence to approved objectives.
  • Support physician relationships and joint venture partnerships, facilitating issue resolution and alignment with objectives.
  • Implement operational standards and workflows, ensuring consistency and integration across centers.
  • Communicate regularly with senior leadership regarding performance, risks, and resource needs.

Regional Director Surgery Center Operations Job Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in healthcare administration with progressively responsible management roles.
  • Certification or membership in professional organizations such as ACMPE or ACHE is preferred.
  • Strong skills in organizational strategy, financial management, and process improvement.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, build morale, and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Experience with compliance, quality improvement, and risk mitigation in healthcare settings.
  • Willingness to travel as required, with exposure to varying road and weather conditions.
