Senior Contracts Specialist Overview

  • The Senior Contracts Specialist supports contract execution processes within a dynamic pharmaceutical environment, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in document preparation and tracking.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams such as legal, finance, and clinical departments to facilitate seamless contract workflows and approvals.
  • Assists in reviewing Statements of Work (SOWs) and Change Orders for consistency and completeness, ensuring compliance with established standards.
  • Maintains contract tracking systems and repositories, ensuring accurate documentation and accessibility for stakeholders.
  • Supports process improvement initiatives by updating templates, implementing new procedures, and documenting workflows and SOPs.
  • Provides essential support for clinical contract management, contributing to the success of pharmaceutical projects and vendor relationships.

Senior Contracts Specialist Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare and route clinical contracts and change orders, gathering required inputs and documentation for accurate processing.
  • Review draft Statements of Work (SOWs) and Change Orders, ensuring consistency and completeness of templates.
  • Coordinate internal review and signature processes across legal, finance, and clinical teams to ensure timely execution.
  • Track contract progress and maintain tools for monitoring contract and change order statuses across clinical projects.
  • Collaborate with sourcing partners, partnership managers, and vendor management to support contract execution.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives, updating templates and supporting new procedure implementation.
  • Organize and archive contract documentation, ensuring proper storage and accessibility of executed agreements.
  • Document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training guides to support team knowledge and consistent execution.

Senior Contracts Specialist Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree preferred; Associate degree considered with relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry, with 5 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and document management tools such as SharePoint and DocuSign.
  • Basic understanding of contract structures and financial documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with internal and external stakeholders effectively.
  • Ability to support process improvement initiatives and document workflows and SOPs for team efficiency.
