Tax Supervisor Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee general ledger accounts, journal entries, and financial closings to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage tax planning, preparation, review, and compliance processes across various tax types.
  • Supervise and guide accounting team members, ensuring quality and adherence to deadlines.
  • Collaborate with partners and managers on special projects and ad-hoc assignments.
  • Conduct tax research to address complex issues and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Prepare and review individual, fiduciary, corporate, partnership, and multistate tax returns.
  • Analyze financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles and tax regulations through meticulous review processes.
  • Utilize advanced accounting software to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.

Tax Supervisor Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is required.
  • CPA certification or active CPA candidacy is essential.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a CPA firm, with 7 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in using CCH Access Suite or similar accounting software is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective team and client interactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
