Medical Director Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead outpatient clinical operations, ensuring high-quality care for HIV/AIDS patients.
  • Supervise and mentor Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and other clinical staff.
  • Manage shared call schedules, maintaining efficient clinic operations.
  • Conduct clinical and administrative duties, balancing patient care and operational oversight.
  • Ensure compliance with medical board licensing and DEA regulations.
  • Diagnose and treat HIV/AIDS patients in an outpatient setting, seeing up to 18 patients daily.
  • Promote inclusivity and specialized care for LGBTQ+ community members.
  • Collaborate with regional leadership to align clinic goals with organizational objectives.

Medical Director Job Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) with active state-specific medical board license.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HIV/AIDS patient care; 7 years preferred.
  • Valid DEA and furnishing licenses; CPR/BLS certification required.
  • AAHIVM certification to be obtained within 18 months of hire.
  • Experience leading clinical teams and mentoring Advanced Practice Providers.
  • Comfortable working with LGBTQ+ community and fostering inclusive care practices.
  • Strong administrative skills to balance clinical and operational responsibilities.
  • Ability to manage outpatient care with no night or weekend shifts.
