Medical Director Overview

  • As a Medical Director, oversee clinical operations and provide expert care in an outpatient setting.

Medical Director Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provide expert medical care to patients, focusing on HIV/AIDS treatment and primary care.
  • Supervise and mentor Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to ensure clinical excellence.
  • Manage clinical operations, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Bureau Chief and executive leadership on strategic initiatives.
  • Conduct patient consultations, diagnosing and treating diverse medical conditions.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with clinic policies.
  • Participate in community outreach programs to promote health awareness and education.
  • Ensure the clinic operates efficiently and effectively to meet patient needs.
  • Stay updated on advancements in HIV/AIDS treatment and primary care practices.

Medical Director Job Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree with a valid state-specific Medical Board license.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in outpatient primary care; 7 years preferred.
  • Proven expertise in treating patients with HIV/AIDS in a clinical setting.
  • Comfortable working with the LGBTQ+ community and promoting inclusive care.
  • Valid DEA and Furnishing license with current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Ability to manage and lead a team of healthcare professionals effectively.
  • Commitment to obtaining AAHIVM Certification within 18 months of hire.
  • Strong administrative and clinical skills to balance dual responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient and team interactions.
