Operating Room Charge Nurse Overview

  • The Operating Room Charge Nurse oversees daily operations in the operating room, ensuring optimal patient care and staff coordination.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to maintain high standards of surgical procedures and patient safety.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff, fostering a supportive and efficient work environment.
  • Monitor compliance with hospital policies, protocols, and regulatory requirements within the operating room.

Operating Room Charge Nurse Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
  • Active California Registered Nurse License upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale Certificate within 90 days of hire.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in nursing, preferably in perioperative settings.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities in a healthcare environment.
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, patient care protocols, and safety standards.
