Job Description

Overview

  • Drive tax compliance and strategic planning for a global organization with multi-entity operations across diverse jurisdictions.
  • Collaborate with finance teams and external advisors to ensure accurate and timely tax filings and reporting.
  • Lead the preparation and review of consolidated income tax provisions under ASC 740 standards.
  • Support mergers and acquisitions by conducting tax diligence and managing post-acquisition integration processes.
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the organization's tax position globally.
  • Enhance tax processes and compliance through identifying and implementing scalable improvements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure seamless tax operations.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to finance teams on tax-related matters and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage federal, state, and international tax compliance for multi-entity structures across various jurisdictions.
  • Oversee indirect taxes such as sales tax, VAT, GST/HST using advanced software and external advisors.
  • Prepare and review consolidated income tax provisions and disclosures under ASC 740 standards.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits, ensuring accurate tax documentation.
  • Conduct tax diligence and analysis for mergers and acquisitions, supporting deal structuring and integration.
  • Develop and recommend strategies for partnership taxation and flow-through structures.
  • Manage international tax matters, including transfer pricing and cross-border transactions.
  • Train finance teams on tax processes and create operational playbooks for compliance.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive tax experience; 10 years preferred.
  • CPA or equivalent certification is required; inactive status is acceptable.
  • Proficiency in federal partnership taxation, K-1s, and pass-through structures.
  • Experience with ASC 740 tax provision preparation and related documentation.
  • Knowledge of international tax matters, including VAT/GST and transfer pricing.
  • Strong leadership skills to coordinate across diverse teams and jurisdictions.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and implement scalable tax processes effectively.
