Overview
- Support attorneys in managing complex litigation cases, ensuring compliance and accuracy throughout all phases of case progression.
- Coordinate discovery processes, draft court documents, and conduct detailed legal research to strengthen case strategies.
- Prepare case materials, including chronologies, exhibits, and evidence, for mediations, trials, and appeals.
- Serve as a procedural expert on litigation rules, court requirements, and best practices to guide case management.
- Mentor junior paralegals, fostering professional growth and enhancing team efficiency and collaboration.
- Engage in high-volume, deadline-driven litigation matters within a dynamic and fast-paced law firm environment.
- Work in a hybrid arrangement, combining remote flexibility with mandatory on-site collaboration days.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Assist attorneys with document production, depositions, and case management tasks, ensuring seamless case progression.
- Conduct comprehensive legal and factual research to support litigation strategies and strengthen case outcomes.
- Prepare for mediations, arbitrations, and trials, managing evidence, exhibits, and case materials effectively.
- Draft and file court documents using relevant filing systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with procedural standards.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain confidentiality and discretion while handling sensitive information.
- Provide mentorship and training to junior paralegals, enhancing team capabilities and fostering professional development.
- Adapt to unfamiliar roles and responsibilities, supporting litigation teams as needed in a dynamic environment.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required, with a focus on legal studies preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of litigation experience in mid to large-sized law firms, with 12 years preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and court filing systems, with experience in Relativity and TextMap preferred.
- Exceptional proofreading, research, and analytical skills to manage urgent projects effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with diverse staff levels and legal professionals.
- Ability to manage high-pressure deadlines and adapt to dynamic litigation environments.
- Willingness to travel for out-of-state work as required, demonstrating flexibility and commitment.
