Senior Estimator Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to budgets.
  • Analyze project plans and specifications to identify cost-saving opportunities and risks.
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to refine project scopes and budgets.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, material costs, and construction methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior estimators and team members.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations in all estimation activities.

Senior Estimator Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction estimation, with 10 years preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and cost estimation techniques.
  • Proficiency in estimation software and tools, such as Bluebeam or similar platforms.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail for accurate cost assessments.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills for vendor and stakeholder interactions.
  • Ability to work on-site and collaborate within a team-oriented environment.
