Senior Accountant Overview

  • The Senior Accountant, Accounts Receivable Specialist will perform critical financial analysis and reconciliation tasks.
  • This is a hybrid role requiring four days onsite weekly, offering flexibility and collaboration.
  • The position includes a funded contract for 2,000 hours, approximately one year of full-time work.
  • Candidates will engage in extensive research and resolution of accounts receivable discrepancies.
  • Responsibilities include reviewing customer activity and assisting with bad debt account reconciliations.
  • The role supports monthly journal entries, funds management billing, and SmartBenefits account management.
  • Candidates will monitor AR inquiries to ensure timely resolution and flag customer IDs for dunning letters.

Senior Accountant Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct detailed research and reconciliation of accounts receivable discrepancies.
  • Review customer activity to determine appropriate account disposition.
  • Resolve AR credits and unapplied receipts efficiently and accurately.
  • Assist with bad debt account reconciliations and reserve determinations.
  • Monitor AR inquiries mailbox to ensure timely handling of requests.
  • Serve as backup for SmartBenefits billing and monthly journal entries submission.
  • Perform funds management-related billing and flag customer IDs for dunning letters.
  • Collaborate with teams to enhance accounts receivable processes and reporting.

Senior Accountant Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) is required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in accounting and financial analysis.
  • Preferred certifications include CPA, CGFM, CMA, or CIA.
  • Experience with account reconciliations, accounts receivable, and billing is essential.
  • Familiarity with financial institutions, government entities, or specialized sectors is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required for success in this role.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment with onsite collaboration four days weekly.
