Fund Accounting Manager Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead day-to-day investment accounting and reporting across diverse financial entities and investment vehicles.
  • Review financial statements, NAV packages, and performance reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage treasury functions, including cash flow projections, funding coordination, and banking relationships.
  • Oversee accounts payable processes and vendor management using accounting platforms like Bill.com.
  • Monitor fund and portfolio performance, providing insights and reporting to senior leadership.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls, workflows, and reporting standards for the department.
  • Supervise and mentor staff, fostering professional growth and cross-training redundancy.
  • Coordinate with external service providers, ensuring quality and compliance with deliverable standards.
  • Support audits, tax reporting, and due diligence for prospective investments and organizational initiatives.

Fund Accounting Manager Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial accounting, audit, or tax, with 5+ years in fund accounting.
  • Supervisory experience managing and developing staff is essential.
  • Expertise in partnership accounting and alternative investments is highly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and QuickBooks Online is required; experience with Arch, Formidium, and Bill.com is valuable.
  • Treasury experience, including cash management and wire processing, is strongly preferred.
  • CPA certification is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage competing deadlines.
