VP IT Infrastructure Overview
- The VP IT Infrastructure will lead strategic initiatives to optimize system performance, scalability, and availability for a dynamic organization.
- Oversee data center operations, ensuring resilience, redundancy, and disaster recovery readiness.
- Manage vendor contracts, negotiations, and compliance with third-party risk management requirements.
- Strategically utilize external resources and consultants to enhance infrastructure capabilities.
- Lead infrastructure projects, upgrades, and migrations, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
- Establish governance over IT asset lifecycle management and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, audits, and risk assessments.
- Collaborate with executives, auditors, and technical teams to achieve organizational goals.
VP IT Infrastructure Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Oversee system capacity planning, performance monitoring, and optimization to meet business demands.
- Manage on-premises and co-location data centers for operational resilience and disaster recovery readiness.
- Negotiate and oversee vendor contracts, ensuring compliance with SLAs and risk management requirements.
- Define deliverables and success criteria for external consultants and contractors.
- Lead infrastructure-related projects, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
- Maintain configuration standards and accurate documentation for change control processes.
- Establish governance over IT asset lifecycle management and ensure proper tracking and security.
- Ensure software license compliance and optimization to mitigate financial and compliance risks.
VP IT Infrastructure Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- 10+ years of progressive IT infrastructure experience, including 3+ years in leadership roles.
- Experience managing external consultants, contractors, and service providers.
- Proven expertise in data center operations, vendor contract management, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong understanding of IT controls, audit requirements, and regulatory expectations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Flexibility to work beyond regular office hours based on business needs.
