Job Description

Overview

  • Lead and oversee architectural practice operations, ensuring efficient project execution and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Mentor and develop architectural staff, fostering professional growth and adherence to industry standards.
  • Collaborate with leadership to strategize project schedules and allocate resources effectively.
  • Forecast future project demands, ensuring optimal staffing and resource availability.
  • Recruit, onboard, and train new team members, maintaining updated job descriptions and training programs.
  • Implement and uphold operational standards and procedures to enhance efficiency and quality assurance.
  • Coordinate with technology and operations teams to provide necessary resources for staff performance.
  • Manage administrative tasks, including reviewing timesheets and expense reports for reporting staff.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Direct architectural teams in delivering projects that meet client expectations and timelines.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to staff, addressing complex project challenges effectively.
  • Collaborate with principals to plan and allocate resources for project success.
  • Anticipate workload and staffing needs to maintain project momentum and quality.
  • Develop and implement operational standards to streamline processes and ensure quality.
  • Facilitate recruitment, onboarding, and training initiatives to build a strong team foundation.
  • Ensure staff have access to necessary tools and resources for optimal performance.
  • Oversee administrative processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational policies.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Architecture (B.Arch.) or equivalent degree required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in architectural practice, with 12 years preferred.
  • Proven leadership experience at the director level within architectural operations.
  • Strong knowledge of project scheduling, resource allocation, and team management.
  • Experience in recruiting, onboarding, and training architectural staff.
  • Proficiency in implementing and overseeing operational standards and procedures.
  • Ability to forecast workload and staffing needs effectively.
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills, including document review and approval.
