Senior Accountant Overview

  • The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the Corporate Finance department, supporting financial operations and reporting for a leading investment advisory firm.
  • Collaborate in a hybrid work environment, balancing on-site and remote tasks effectively.
  • Utilize advanced accounting skills to manage full-cycle accounting processes and ensure compliance with internal controls.
  • Engage in international accounting adjustments and intercompany reconciliations across multiple regions.
  • Assist in treasury operations, budgeting, and forecasting to support strategic financial planning.
  • Document technical accounting memos and enhance financial systems with innovative tools and technologies.
  • Work with external and internal auditors, ensuring compliance during audits and reviews.

Senior Accountant Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform full-cycle accounting tasks, including month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations for US and international entities.
  • Execute monthly variance analysis and expense allocations at divisional and entity levels.
  • Manage accounting processes for cash, receivables, investments, leases, and other financial areas.
  • Assist in preparing financial reporting footnotes and tax schedules on a quarterly and annual basis.
  • Support treasury operations, including planning, investing, controls, and forecasting activities.
  • Collaborate on budget and forecasting requests, providing detailed expense analysis.
  • Document technical accounting memos and enhance financial systems with innovative tools.
  • Interact with auditors, ensuring compliance and assisting in quarterly reviews and annual audits.
  • Participate in implementing and enhancing financial systems and processes for efficiency.

Senior Accountant Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
  • CPA certification is preferred, with 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and experience with Workday is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to mentor and supervise staff accountants effectively.
  • Experience in public accounting audit/assurance or comparable industry roles.
  • Comfortable with adopting new tools and technologies, including AI-based solutions.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and excel under minimal supervision.
