Electrical Superintendent Overview
- The Electrical Superintendent will oversee field operations for diverse electrical construction projects, ensuring quality, safety, and timely completion.
- Lead day-to-day activities on projects including K-12 education, commercial construction, and distribution facilities.
- Collaborate with project managers to maintain schedules and budgets while ensuring compliance with specifications and codes.
- Coordinate with electricians, foremen, subcontractors, and other personnel to achieve project goals.
- Review electrical drawings and specifications to ensure proper execution of construction plans.
- Monitor manpower, productivity, and material needs, addressing challenges proactively.
- Enforce safety standards and maintain a safe working environment on job sites.
- Provide leadership in inspections, commissioning, and project closeout activities.
- Foster positive relationships with clients, general contractors, and project teams.
Electrical Superintendent Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Supervise and coordinate electricians, foremen, and subcontractors to ensure efficient project execution.
- Plan and schedule daily and weekly construction activities, ensuring adherence to timelines.
- Collaborate with project managers to maintain project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
- Coordinate electrical work with other trades and general contractors to avoid conflicts.
- Monitor project progress, manpower, and material needs, addressing issues proactively.
- Lead safety initiatives and enforce company safety standards on job sites.
- Participate in inspections, punch lists, and project commissioning activities.
- Maintain effective communication with project teams and stakeholders.
Electrical Superintendent Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; additional certifications are a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical construction; 10 years preferred.
- Proven experience as an Electrical Superintendent, Foreman, or General Foreman.
- Strong knowledge of commercial electrical construction methods and processes.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
- Experience with construction management software such as Procore is advantageous.
- OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
- Excellent organizational, scheduling, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
