Job Description

Electrical Superintendent Overview

  • The Electrical Superintendent will oversee field operations for diverse electrical construction projects, ensuring quality, safety, and timely completion.
  • Lead day-to-day activities on projects including K-12 education, commercial construction, and distribution facilities.
  • Collaborate with project managers to maintain schedules and budgets while ensuring compliance with specifications and codes.
  • Coordinate with electricians, foremen, subcontractors, and other personnel to achieve project goals.
  • Review electrical drawings and specifications to ensure proper execution of construction plans.
  • Monitor manpower, productivity, and material needs, addressing challenges proactively.
  • Enforce safety standards and maintain a safe working environment on job sites.
  • Provide leadership in inspections, commissioning, and project closeout activities.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients, general contractors, and project teams.

Electrical Superintendent Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise and coordinate electricians, foremen, and subcontractors to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Plan and schedule daily and weekly construction activities, ensuring adherence to timelines.
  • Collaborate with project managers to maintain project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Coordinate electrical work with other trades and general contractors to avoid conflicts.
  • Monitor project progress, manpower, and material needs, addressing issues proactively.
  • Lead safety initiatives and enforce company safety standards on job sites.
  • Participate in inspections, punch lists, and project commissioning activities.
  • Maintain effective communication with project teams and stakeholders.

Electrical Superintendent Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; additional certifications are a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical construction; 10 years preferred.
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Superintendent, Foreman, or General Foreman.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial electrical construction methods and processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with construction management software such as Procore is advantageous.
  • OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, scheduling, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
