Overview
- The Patient Recruiter will focus on recruiting patients for clinical trials, ensuring smooth enrollment processes, and maintaining effective communication with participants.
- Conduct pre-qualification and pre-screening activities to evaluate patient eligibility for studies, supporting enrollment goals.
- Manage patient communication, including scheduling, reminders, and addressing barriers to study entry.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize recruitment strategies and maintain referral relationships.
- Utilize Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS) for updating patient profiles and tracking recruitment metrics.
- Participate in community outreach events to educate patients about clinical trials and promote enrollment.
- Support regional recruitment efforts and contribute to achieving screening targets set by leadership.
- Assist in training new recruiters and retraining existing team members to ensure consistent recruitment practices.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Conduct patient pre-screening and eligibility evaluations through interviews, medical record reviews, and discussions with clinic staff.
- Manage patient communication, including follow-ups, reminders, and addressing barriers to study participation.
- Schedule and reschedule patient screening appointments, ensuring efficient enrollment processes.
- Monitor and optimize recruitment metrics, including tracking no-shows and non-qualified patients.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to manage referral leads and enhance recruitment strategies.
- Maintain accurate and timely updates in Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS) for patient profiles and recruitment activities.
- Participate in community outreach events to engage potential participants and promote clinical trials.
- Assist in training and mentoring new and existing recruitment team members.
Job Requirements
- Associate of Science (AS) degree or equivalent education and experience in healthcare or medical research.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in healthcare, call center, or medical research environments; 6 years preferred.
- Proficiency in Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS) and electronic health records.
- Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills, including typing proficiency (40+ wpm).
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information confidentially and professionally, adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
- Preferred certifications: MA, CNA, LPN/LVN, EMT, or other medical licenses.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly desirable.
- Experience in therapy areas, customer service, and calendar management is advantageous.
